Royal Underwood
Welcome
I’m a self-taught raconteur who traded a college degree for a thirty-year education derived from living among American Indians, and whenever I sit down at my old Olympia SM-9 or the computer keyboard, I remind myself that I walk a precarious path, one well-worn by numerous eminent writers who’ve produced fine literary works. All writers know that writing can be an undertaking laced with considerable doubt; however, the solution is simple: entertain the reader.
As for creativity, someone once said nothing happens in a vacuum, but if that were true, I’d never have to change the disposable bag on my old Kirby G4.
Meanwhile, I navigate through shifting seas of thought and imagination in a craft built from lived moments, stray observations, and half-remembered dreams. Within it, I carry stories that bridge the familiar and the strange, ideas that invite reflection, and words that aim to linger long after the page is turned.
In my debut novel, RED PAINT, I explore the mysterious boundaries between this world and the cosmic unknown, weaving a tale of dimensional rifts, otherworldly beings, and the supernatural.
Thanks for stopping by.
